First and foremost, I am the husband of my incredibly supportive and loving wife Robyn, to whom I owe so much for her patience and encouragement as I ventured into this world of astronomy and astrophotography. I am a father of 3 wonderful children whom I am proud to call “my Legacy”. My profession is in Information Technology, and a veteran of the world’s greatest United States Navy!
Since I was young, my interest in astronomy and the marvels of the nighttime sky has brought me endless delight. Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, I often visited the Adler Planetarium, where I delved into humanity’s exploration of space and marveled at captivating films showcasing the cosmos. During my service deployments at sea, I never failed to be awestruck by the sight of a sky filled with stars, devoid of the light pollution typical of big cities. However, it was in 2018 that I truly committed myself to the captivating world of astrophotography. I prefer to call it a “lifestyle” rather than a mere hobby because, for me, this journey has evolved into a life-changing experience.
From my Northern Illinois backyard, I enjoy the challenging but exhilarating task of capturing the beauty of our cosmic neighborhood through deep-sky imaging. My astronomical endeavors extend beyond imaging as I maintain an active presence on YouTube. You can find my astronomical adventures showcased on my Astro with Eric channel, and I’m also thrilled to cohost the biweekly AstroWorld TV show alongside Dan Higgins, owner of AstroWorld Telescopes.
This platform serves as a canvas for me to share the amazing images I’ve captured, from objects within our solar system to galaxies, and beautiful nebulae and the vast expanse light years beyond. Additionally, my blog will be a hub for insightful articles covering a spectrum of topics, including the essentials of getting started in astrophotography, the intricacies of image processing, unbiased reviews of relevant products, and the occasional musings on random astronomy and astrophotography thoughts. Feel free to drop a comment; I welcome the opportunity to engage in discussions with fellow enthusiasts.
Thank you for visiting, and I sincerely hope you find enjoyment and inspiration in the glimpses of the universe I share. Always remember, in the grand scheme of things, we are but a minuscule part of an unfathomably vast universe. So, take a moment to look up and marvel at the cosmic wonders that lie beyond our planetary abode.
