Solar Imaging

Taking images of the sun is a new area of astrophotography for me. While I plan to travel to see the full solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, I will be learning to take images of the sun with white light solar filters that are placed in front of the lens. Later I expect to move a bit deeper in to the solar imaging rabbit hole and learn to take images with a Hydrogen Alpha filter specially designed for solar unlike the nighttime version I normally use for deep sky imaging.

My first solar image, taken March 10, 2024
